Fux peening jig
Beginners often find it easier to achieve a consistent result with the peening jig. For peening with the peening jig, unlike with an anvil, a regular 600g hammer is perfectly suitable.
Supplied with a detailed, step-by-step instruction manual with photos.
Demonstration of peening with a peening jig
When a blade is peened with the peening jig, the right thickness and geometry are obtained, but the apex of the cutting edge becomes somewhat blunt trough the contact with the shaft of the tool. A pass or a couple of passes with an artificial whetstone such as the Silicar is therefore necessary to remedy this inconvenience. Then, in the field, the edge is revived every few minutes with a natural whetstone, as soon as you feel a little more resistance and/or if you notice that the grass is being cut less well.
