187 50cm ditch blade
+/-435g
This sturdy and durable blade is mainly used for clearing heavy vegetation. It is lighter than most such blades, yet just as well suited for tackling vegetation such as brambles, etc. provided that you work with a slicing rather than hacking motion, even when mowing heavy vegetation. For this work, the edge must not be peened; honing with an artificial stone is sufficient. If its edge is well peened however, this blade is also suitable for soft vegetation in tight spaces. The bush blade is not peened, but simply honed with an artificial whetstone such as the Silicar ou la Styria. Indeed, the artificial whetstone is more effective on the thicker edge of an unpeened blade. As with grass blades, the whetstone is carried on the belt in a water-filled whetstone holder. Adding a small dash of vinegar helps keep the artificial whetstone clean and functional.
Each blade is supplied with a plastic protective strip. A wooden wedge is supplied free of charge if the tang angle requires it.
